Most questions are about one of four things: whether your journal’s design can be matched, which files you would get, what it costs at your volume, and what to do with a back catalogue. Any of them is quicker to ask than to work out from a page.
It reaches the people who run the software, not a queue. If your question is really “would this produce a galley we would publish”, say so and send the manuscript you would judge it by.
There is no sign-up form. We set the account up ourselves, with your journal, its identifiers and its licence already recorded, and whoever is to administer it gets a link to choose their own password - so this message is the first step rather than a detour around one.
What to say
What people write in about
-
Our journal looks like this
Send a PDF of a recent issue and say what matters about it - the columns, the heading scale, the running heads, the licence line. The answer is whether it can be set to that specification, and what is involved.
-
What would we actually get?
Which files, in which plan, and what each one is for. If you need a format that is not listed, say which service is asking you for it.
-
We publish this much
How many articles a year, across how many titles, and when they bunch up. Volume is the part that decides what this costs and whether it fits.
-
We have twenty years of back issues
What you still hold them as decides what is possible, so say that first: manuscripts in a word processor are one job, and published PDFs are not one this does yet.
